maybe i should do an audio blog... i suck so much at writing... what a pain in the butt...
jon accidentally (maybe accidentally on purpose) posted something absolutely innappropriate to the internet... good backpedalling... i hope my reputation wasnt ruined forever. anyway it wasnt me doing the cussing in the first place.
God has been good to me... and change is afoot - in so many areas of my life, i feel shift starting to happen. I embrace change - I need change - I talked to danny for a while the other night, and we both know what it means to be a spiritual couch potato. We were comparing notes, and realized how selfishness gets us to focus on ourselves, our situation, and our inadiquacies (like spelling for isntance)
anyway, lots of great stuff is going on... but the biggest challenge, hardest thing in this very moment is potty training. We have quite an independant thinker with little miss stoltzfus, and she is basically backwards trained to not go potty... so after this entire past year of doing a fine job of backwards training, it is time to ditch the whole diaper deal - easier said than done. Maria is old enough now to know what she wants to do, and what she doesn't.... and actually using the toilet for what it is supposed to be used for - well that hasnt made her "to do" list yet.
Candace has spent the past day and a half completely and entirely dedicated to training. it has been many hours with maria sitting on the toilet and doing all manner of fun activities - none of which include anything coming out her bottom. Breakfast on the potty, story time on the potty... lots of snacks and drinks - more stories... we are thinking of moving a tv in there too.
anyway, any advice is muchly welcome.
I can honestly say that I am nearly at this point, ready to fly the white flag
Maria has never done anything on command with us... in fact she often wants to do the opposite. Mostly its not really a problem unless she wants to wear pocodots with stripes or something... she is not a bad girl - just opinionated - and independant - and stuborn... i wonder where she gets it??? hmmmm prolly candace :)
actually, Candace and I tend to both be that way a bit... its surprizing that we don't get into conflict more often. I guess it is a matter of balance and perspective.
