ACC Bible Quizzing 2006 - yeah, Im trying to keep the pics coming on the site... its been busy, but im finding time to try to keep things looking decent on the site. Not doing a great job but oh well. Time is extremely limited.

I’ve been getting into listening to podcasts quite a bit lately. I don’t have an ipod, but another little mp3 device, and I’ve been listening to these podcasts on my stereo and now in the car etc. Its pretty cool because I really like certain parts of NPR – I’m totally an NPR geek, but I get bored with so much politics, and there are certain things I love about NPR and certain things that are just way boring… so now it is really cool that I can listen to just the best of the best of what I want to listen to. Some of my favorite podcasts include NPR’s “science Friday”, technology etc. also the Kojo-Nnamdi show - also found the Onion news radio show and this cool one from Relevant Magazine. One of my favorites is from twis.org this week in science is a couple of sort of pretty funny people sharing off the wall science headlines. Its pretty hysterical. Anyway, another one is all about Photoshop. I know its geeky, but I feel like I am being educated as I do the dishes, or cook or clean or play with the girls or whatever.

Speaking of the girls… I guess I should journal a bit about them. Maria is so cool. This is real parenthood happening now. Discipline is a daily challenge. It’s a challenge to keep balance – not being so overbearing that she cant be a 2-3year old and act goofy… but also teaching her not to talk back. Maria is pretty bossy. She is gonna be a typical firstborn in our family I think… probably a leader… I guess its too early to really nail down her personality, but she sometimes has this attitude where she tries to tell us what to do. Sometimes we play along, and sometimes we have to correct her. Anyway its great fun.Tori is so close to crawling… she may have crawled today. She was sitting on the floor, and I was doing something with Maria and looking away… when I looked back, she had moved a bit, but Im not sure whether she just skooched over or whether she actually crawled… anyway she is going after things more and more… its fun to see that development. Last night when I came home from work, I just sat on the couch and played with her for about a half hour, she was giggling and throwing her head (and whole body) back so that as I held on to her, she ended upside down and laughing. Anyway it was one of those moments I want to remember – just the joy of playing with the girls is so fun. Today Maria, Tori and I piling up on the couch. Yay…

Blogging is slowly fading as part of my life. If you are interested, I probably spend more time on Facebook connecting and posting comments these days.
