Wednesday was my day to watch Maria... Candace works on wednesday, and I stay home. But this wed I ran up to York (where I grew up) actually to check out some used video equipment. Maria is a darling girl... and so good.
After I got done at the video place, I drove over to the street where I grew up. It is strange, and still pretty much the same 15 years later... different names on the mailboxes, and the trees are much bigger etc. In my old back yard, the big old tree on which we used to hang a tire swing, well it was gone, but next to it were two trees I remembered us planting very small - and now they were seriously huge... It was an interesting experience. No one was out because it was sort of cold and rainy. I'll bet though that if I walked down that street on a warm summer night, that I might run into some familiar faces.
So much has changed - dad is gone now too - it makes me sad to think about it. Selah
After that, I went toward the old mall that I used to ride my bike to... it was a decent mall - the biggest one in town when I was young... now they converted into a Super Wallmart - I'm not kidding the whole mall is gutted, and now one big store... amazing. So Maria and I went shopping. We had a good time. and she got plenty of attention from people. I'm proud of my baby girl! She smiles more and more. I went in for a couple of things, and ended up with an overflowing cart stacked way up with stuff. Its all stuff I needed, like shoes, and organizer things for ACTV... Im glad I stopped.
Tonight we went to Walmart again - this time with Candace too. She needed some clothes and stuff. Walmarts are interesting places to go - you can really learn about the middle class by going there. the Ephrata walmart is cool... amish people, and country people, and hicks and jocks, its pretty funny to watch.... I remember being at the walmart in the south side of Chicago - what a wreck that place was - tore up! and all the spray paint was locked up in a cabinet and you had to be over 21 to buy it. hmmm
Maria is growing fast... she needs bigger diapers and stuff. she is seriously getting chubby - but thats ok - it makes her look more like me :)
